Islamia Schools students raised £9,000 for the National Zakat Foundation (NZF) in our annual sponsored walk.
On Wednesday 2nd October, our students from Islamia Girls School (IGS) and Brondesbury College (BCB) laced up their walking shoes for a meaningful cause. The 6-mile route took students from the school gates all the way to Regent's Park Mosque, where they performed Dhuhr Salah together as a community.
Our sponsored walk is an annual event at Islamia Schools, and this year's was a big success. It brought students together in support of those most in need right here in our local communities. Every student raised a minimum of £50 to participate, with all proceeds going to the National Zakat Foundation (NZF).
Wearing non-uniform in NZF colours (red, white, and black), students walked approximately 18,000 steps, raising over £9,000! Having worked up quite an appetite, we concluded the day with a rewarding picnic by the lake at Regent's Park.
NZF and Islamia Girls School regularly collaborate on fundraising initiatives like sponsored walks. These events help raise money for the NZF, which then uses the funds to support vulnerable individuals and families in the UK with essential needs like food, clothing, and heating.
This event was a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to give back, and we are incredibly proud of all who took part. Well done to all our students and staff for their dedication and effort.
